Deputy Chief David Allard joined the Beckley Police Department in 2002 after serving in the U.S. Air Force and as a deputy sheriff in Virginia. During his career, he has led complex investigations, served as Chief of Detectives, become West Virginia’s first Drug Recognition Expert, and graduated from the FBI National Academy. Appointed Deputy Chief in 2022, Allard oversees the department’s major divisions, serves as Public Information Officer, and assists the Chief of Police with daily operations.
